10 PRINT "HELLO WORLD"

I haven't blogged for several years, but I've got the itch to again. This blog shall probably mostly contain various writing experiments that I want to put somewhere, odd bits of non-fiction and perhaps other things. I'm not sure yet. I may also discuss various personal artistic projects I am working on, though I have found in the past that this mostly serves as an excellent way of procrastinating. However, it is probably good for me in some way, and may inspire me to do some more 'serious' work.

About me:

I am a young artist from the UK. I chiefly work as a speculative illustrator, cartoonist and portraitist under the name DS Blake, and more occasionally I produce artist's books under my real name (Simon Cardew). My personal website is idletoil.co.uk .

My books of illustrations and cartoons can be purchased here:

Artist's books can be purchased here:

Illustrations can be viewed in a number of places:

I have a youtube channel, where I post timelapses of myself working:

I sell t-shirts, prints and other items on Redbubble here:

I also enjoy writing, in various forms, though very little of it sees the public sphere. I would like to change that, and have decided to start entering a few literary contests and challenges, as well as working on some abstract material that might make its way into future artist's books. Doing this is a large part of the reaon I am starting this blog. Hopefully it goes...somewhere.

My writing here, like my art, will probably heavily involve my interests in weird fiction, true crime, the occult, tabletop gaming, strange music and so on. If you aren't a dreadful skull nerd, you'll probably be (rightfully) disappointed.

I have no idea what I'm doing.
